Senior Game Designer
We’re looking for a Senior Game Designer at Ubisoft Barcelona Mobile to lead the design and development of mobile games for iOS and Android platforms. The Senior Game Designer will help define game specifications from initial concept to launch as well as continually refine games to maximize user retention and monetization. The ideal candidate will have experience in the social gaming industry, F2P and virtual goods business models on mobile platforms.
Main responsibilities include:
· Conceptualize new mobile games, modeling a complex game economy as well as difficulty and scoring.
· Create world design (backstory, setting, and theme for the game), System design (creation of game rules and underlying mathematical patterns) and Content design (creation of characters, items, cards, and missions).
· Work with product lead, product managers, developers and artists to oversee the implementation of new features and systems, both for end users and for streamlining the production process and content creation.
· Manage pricing of virtual goods, economy and balance of incentivized and purchased items in the game economy.
· Providing clear feature documentation, diagrams, wireframes and/or prototypes.
· Analyze content of our current games to improve game design and monetization concepts.
· UX: Design UI flow and player experience for game systems.
· Play testing: Analyze data and player feedback to continually optimize existing game experience.
· Create a fun, engaging and outstanding player experience.
Profile
· At least 3 years as game designer or be already in the senior position.
· Proven successful designs in the mobile platforms design with metrics.
· Strong knowledge of game design, balancing, pacing & monetization strategies for F2P games.
· Experience writing product specifications.
· Ability to analyze gameplay mechanics and feature designs for mobiles.
· Ability to design level systems & individual gameplay features.
· Understanding of interaction design concepts and principles.
· Excellent written communication skills (English).
· Very good analytical gameplay balancing skills.
· Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
· Ability to understand the game’s vision and apply it to every design.
· Ability to take direction and feedback, and working this into your designs.
· Familiar with psychological models concerning motivation and didactic and therefore able to create extraordinary experiences for the player.
